Why Fully-Sealed Optical Engines Win in Africa

Every LCD projector has one architectural weakness: the light path. In an open-engine design, the cooling fan pulls ambient air directly across the LCD panel and polarizers. In Lagos harmattan, Nairobi dry season or coastal Mombasa humidity, that air carries dust, moisture and organic debris that permanently bond to the panel — first as faint dark spots, then as burned, unfixable shadows.

A fully-sealed optical engine changes the physics. The panel, lenses and light source sit in an airtight cavity; cooling air flows only over the exterior heat sinks and never touches the optics. The result: no dust bonding, no image decay, and panel life measured in years of daily use rather than months.

What to check when comparing 'sealed' claims: 1) Is the engine itself sealed, or only the housing? 2) Does the spec sheet state a sealed light path with separate cooling channel? 3) Field references from dusty regions.
